The anti-tear conveyor belt features highly extensible transverse polyester or nylon canvas evenly distributed in the top cover (or both top and bottom covers) of the steel cord carcass. This anti-tear layer runs perpendicular to the belt’s direction of movement. When the belt is conveying hard and sharp materials, the anti-tear layer acts as a barrier, preventing piercing. Even in the event of piercing, the anti-tear layer provides additional protection, minimizing the risk of tearing.
The values will help to determine the appropriate cover compound for the application or for the materials carries. Reliable assessment of the behavior of the covers in service for wear and cut resistance cannot be determined from tensile strength, and abrasion values alone.
